The Ceraudo estate lies within a 17th-century hamlet, set in a 60-hectare garden of vineyards, olive groves and citrus orchards that runs down to the sea. It's home to a Michelin-starred restaurant, rooms with sweeping views over the hills and a lovely pool ringed by centuries-old olive trees. Ceraudo's wines are all notably elegant, marked by complexity, substantial texture and long-lasting aromas. Petraro is an astonishingly full-bodied red, aged three years in French oak.

Grape variety: Gaglioppo, Greco Nero, Cabernet Sauvignon

Vinification: aged 36 months in French oak barrels and 2 years in bottle.

Tasting notes: Intense garnet red. A harmonious nose with light hints of wild berries. On the palate, an astonishingly full-bodied, velvety and round red.

Food pairing: aged cheeses, red-meat main courses.

Alcohol content: 14.5% vol.

Serve at 16–18°C.

Awards: The WineHunter Award Rosso; IWSC Bronze.
