The Valpolicella Ripasso DOC Classico Superiore by Campagnola is a refined red wine that beautifully expresses the character and tradition of the Valpolicella region in Veneto. Produced in the historic Classico area, this wine benefits from the unique terroir of hillside vineyards and the expertise of a winery with more than a century of winemaking tradition. The Ripasso method gives the wine greater depth, structure, and complexity, resulting in a rich yet elegant expression of Valpolicella.

Grape Varieties: Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella

Vinification: The wine is produced using the traditional Ripasso method, where the young Valpolicella wine undergoes a second fermentation on the dried grape skins previously used for Amarone. This process enriches the wine with additional aromas, structure, and body. After fermentation, the wine matures in oak barrels for several months, allowing it to develop complexity, balance, and harmony.

Tasting Notes: In the glass, the wine displays a deep ruby red color. The nose reveals an intense bouquet of ripe red fruits such as cherries and plums, accompanied by elegant spicy notes and subtle hints of dried fruit. On the palate, it is full-bodied, smooth, and well structured, with velvety tannins and a pleasant freshness. The finish is long, warm, and harmonious.

Food Pairing: Excellent with roasted meats, braised dishes, game, rich pasta dishes, and aged cheeses.

Alcohol Content: 14% vol.

Serving Temperature: 16–18°C

Awards: 2022: James Suckling 91/100, Luca Maroni 94/100
