Produced by Piandimare, a dynamic winery nestled in the hills of Villamagna (Chieti), Abruzzo, the Black Edition represents the pinnacle of their dedication to quality and tradition. This wine embodies the soul of the region—bold, structured, and expressive—offering a modern interpretation of Montepulciano d’Abruzzo. Piandimare’s commitment to organic farming and minimal intervention ensures that each bottle reflects the unique terroir and the winery’s passion for excellence.

Grape Variety: 100% Montepulciano, selected from late-harvested grapes in the hills of Villamagna.

Vinification: The grapes are hand-harvested during the last ten days of October, allowing for natural overripening on the vine. A prolonged maceration process enhances the wine’s intense color and soft tannins. After fermentation with selected yeasts, the wine ages for 12 months in stainless steel, followed by 12 months in French oak barriques. An additional 6 months of bottle aging ensures refinement before release.

Tasting Notes: Deep, intense red color. Nose: Immediate aromas of blackberry, black plum, and blackcurrant, with notes of jam and vanilla that carry onto the palate. Full-bodied with velvety tannins and balanced acidity, showcasing excellent structure and harmony.

Food Pairing: Ideal with red meats, beef, and lamb—perfect for hearty meals and special occasions.

Alcohol Content: 14% vol.

Serving Temperature: 16–18°C
