Etna DOC wine, which can be drunk alone or can accompany a good meat dish. Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio are the main grapes of Etna Rosso DOC. The vineyard is located in the northern part of the volcano at an altitude of 620 meters above sea level. The soil is volcanic rich in minerals, with a lot of structure.

Grape variety: Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio

Vinification: The grapes are harvested by hand in small baskets, and once at the winery, they are crushed and separated from the stems. The crushed grapes are collected in stainless steel tanks where the fermentation takes place at controlled temperature of 25°C. After 5 days, the fermented wine is pressed and malolactic fermentation then follows, aging on the noble lees for three months in oak barrels. Refinement: 10 months in stainless steel, 3-6 months in the bottles.

Tasting notes: The wine is deep ruby red and quite consistent. On the nose, we initially perceive a floral scent with hints of red fruits, almond, cinnamon and cocoa. On the palate, it is soft and fresh; the tannin typical elegant and dry, good persistence.

Food pairing: roasted red meats, pasta and salami

Alcohol content: 13.5% vol.

Serving temperature: 16-18°C

Awards: James Suckling 92/100
