"The Guidalberto is neither a second Sassicaia nor its second wine, but a personality on its own right," says Marchese Nicolò. The elegant composition matures in barriques for 15 months and convinces with silky tannins and spicy tobacco notes.

Grape variety: 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot

Vinification: The grapes are harvested by hand and strictly selected. The subsequent mash fermentation and the alcoholic fermentation take place in thermo-controlled stainless steel tanks. The young wine ages for 15 months in American and French barriques (a third of them new), then another three months in the bottle.

Tasting notes:  Intense ruby red with purple reflections. Straight, compact on the nose. There are notes of dark berries, cassis and cherries, plums paired with spicy-floral notes. On the palate, the wine presents itself with a lot of enamel and silky tannins. The finish is long, the juicy acidity accompanies wonderfully and makes you want more.

Food pairing: Excellent with a grilled entrecôte or tagliorini with porcini mushrooms.

Alcohol content: 14% vol.

Serve at 16-18°C

Awards: James Suckling 94/100, Robert Parker 94/100
