La Rocca is situated on the slopes of Monte Rocchetta, below the medieval castle which dominates the town of Soave. The vineyard benefits from a special microclimate which in turn produces a wine with great personality, a distinctive perfume and unique characteristics. Innovative since it’s first release in 1978, it has made its mark in the area and is become a definitive symbol of quality and tradition.

Grape variety: Garganega 100%

Vinification: The grapes are destemmed and crushed. After a short skin maceration, the wine is fermented in tonneaux or big oak barrels. At the end of fermentation, the wine ages for around 15 months in tonneaux. During this period, the wine remains on the fine lees, where it acquires complexity and a rich bouquet. It is released after a few bottle ageing.

Tasting notes: Colour: Brilliant amedium lemon. Perfume: Characterful wine, reminiscent of exotic fruit and nuts on the nose. Palate: Smooth and persistent on the palate, with hints of spice, length and elegance.

Alcohol content: 13% vol.

Food pairing: risottos, salt cod and other fish including salmon, scallops and crab

Serving temperature: 12-14°C

Awards: Wine Spectator 92/100, Kerin O'Keefe 94/100, James Suckling 96/100 - TOP 100 WINES OF ITALY, Wine Enthusiast 98/100 Cellar Selection, Wine Hunter Gold
