The area of production enjoys a particularly mild microclimate which, throughout the winter period, exploits the slow release of heat accumulated by the basin of Lake Garda in summer. This phenomenon encourages the wintering of many bird species that are rarely found at these latitudes. In different parts of the river, uncontaminated landscapes with morainal reliefs alternate with flat stretches. In this important and hugely biodiverse nature reserve, Villa Della Torre manages approximately 25 acres of vineyard dedicated exclusively to the production of Lugana, one of Italy’s finest white wines.
Grape variety: 100% Turbiana (Trebbiano di Lugana)
Vinification: steel tank
Tasting notes: This interpretation of Lugana aims to enhance the characteristics that combine freshness with complexity due to 6 months of aging on the fine lees. In the glass, the wine is bright yellow with golden highlights. The nose delivers a salvo of white flowers, citrus fruits, and aromatic herbs, while on the palate, the savory note and intense minerality heighten a very satisfying acidity; the persistent finish recalls the aromas of sweet almond. With bottle aging, it will evolve and take on the sort of complexity that only fine, characterful wines can offer.
Alcohol content: 12.5% vol.
Food pairing: This is an appetizer wine par excellence but it also pairs well with lake and sea fish dishes, savory pies made with ricotta and wild herbs, as well as roasted, grilled, and spit-roasted white meats.
Serving temperature: 10-12°C
Delivery during 2-3 working days.
