The vineyard called Il Glicine extends over 1 hectare in the Sassella sub-zone at 350 metres, in the commune of Sondrio. Glicine is the Italian word for wisteria; and this colourful plant clings to the rocky crags that dominate the entire plot.
Grape variety: Nebbiolo (Chiavenasca)
Vinification: alcoholic fermentation in steel tanks at controlled temperature, ageing for 12 months in 30 HL oak casks and 500 lt oak barrels
Tasting notes: Ruby red color with garnet reflections. Nose: Aromatic palette of rose hips, raspberry jam, watermelon, undergrowth with hints of cedar, ink and mineral brushstrokes. On the palate: fresh, tannic, persistent.
Alcohol content: 14 % vol.
Food pairing: aged cheeses, red meat main courses, meat appetizers
Serve at 16°-18°C
