A traditional Barolo, one of Prunotto’s historic labels, whose first vintage was produced in 1905 from the best grapes of the vineyards in the heart of the Barolo appellation. Aging takes place in large oak barrels of various sizes, further enhancing the extraordinary typicity of Nebbiolo in this region.

Grape variety: Nebbiolo 100%

Vinification: The Nebbiolo grapes come from the famous locations around Monforte, Serralunga and Castiglione Falletto. After the manual harvest and gentle crushing the mash fermentation follows. The young wine is then aged for two years in French and Slavonian oak barrels of 50 to 75 hl each, and a small part in two-year-old barriques. The wine then matures in the bottle for twelve months.

Tasting notes: garnet red. Fine notes of berries, violets and warm spices on the nose. Full-bodied and well-structured on the palate. Juicy, finely polished tannins. The typical for Nebbiolo grape acidity is very well integrated and balanced. Elegant and long finish.

Food pairing: brasato, game or cheese.

Alcohol content: 13.5% vol.

Serving temperature: 16-18°C

Awards: James Suckling 92/100 (year 2018)
