Falkenstein is a family-run wine producing company at the foot of the Monte Sole Mountains in South Tyrol. 14 hectares of vineyards are placed on south and west facing terraces. Wine ageing in acacia wood casks and barrique barrel in the cellar carved into the rock. The Pinot Blanc grapes, with dense medium-sized berries, are harvested by hand between the middle and the end of September. The ageing process and the subsequent storage in bottles allow the wine to develop to its full potential. Soil which means a lot for this kind of wine is sandy interspersed with granite, gneiss, slate, mica and quartz.

Grape variety: Pinot Bianco 100%

Vinification: fermentation and subsequent maturing in large acacia wood barrels (10 months) on coarse lees, followed by bottle sedimentation (12 months).

Tasting notes: straw yellow with greenish reflections. Aromas of apple, pear and citrus fruits; full acidity and pleasantly crispy on the palate.

Alcohol content: 13.5% vol.

Serving temperature: 10-12°C

Awards: James Suckling 91 (year 2019)
