Il Bruciato was first produced in 2002 in one of the most difficult vintages ever for the Guado al Tasso estate. The wine is a modern interpretation of Bolgheri’s unique terroir made from carefully selected Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah grapes from Guado al Tasso’s vineyards. The geological composition of the soil is diversified giving the wine structure and complexity.

Grape variety: Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Syrah

Vinification: After destemming and soft pressing, the different grape varieties are vinified separately. The alcoholic fermentation takes place in 225-liter barriques (Allier and Tronçais) and in stainless steel tanks. After the assemblage, the young wine matures for eight months in barriques.

Tasting notes: Dark, rich ruby colour. Intense, dense, almost exploding nose. Fragrant of ripe wild berries and cassis, mocha, warm smoke, plus subtle, subtle coconut, vanilla and toasted notes. A big, mouth-filling and aromatic wine with plenty of melt and a pithy texture. The finish is long and distinctly aromatic. An excellent representative of Maremma, with a lot of regional character, and at a fair price.

Food pairing: Perfect with strong pasta dishes and meat in any variation.

Alcohol content: 14% vol.

Serve at 16-18°C
